WELCOME RECEPTION
July 16th, Monday
Considering the immense success of last edition’s banquet, we will revisit Pátio da Galé. Benefitting from excellent conditions for hosting a wide range of venues, Patio da Galé welcomes some of the most notable events in the Portuguese capital.
Pátio da Galé is an incomparable venue in Portugal, placed in Terreiro do Paço, with its unique and extraordinary architecture and its history. It was where the Royal Palace and the India House were located, when the earthquake of 1755 took place. Maintaining the building's original architectural design, Patio da Galé has been enriched with avantgarde elements and concepts, creating a very pleasant atmosphere that is both historic and modern.
Patio da Galé is situated next to the majestic and monumental Arch of Rua Augusta, a symbol of Lisbon’s triumph over the earthquake of 1775. The city that emerged is the one we know today and one that captivates all who wander through the downtown district, with its wide avenues facing the riverfront. This Neoclassical Arch marks the horizon of this historic area of the city and it is the gateway to this prime avenue bustling with activity.
SYMPOSIUM DINNER
July 18th, Wednesday
The Lisbon Symposium Dinner will be held at SUD Lisboa, two venues of strong personality on the waterfront united in perfect coexistence with the Tagus river and a wide view towards the Bridge “25 de Abril”. The buildings were turned into a restaurant ("SUD Lisboa Terrazza") and multipurpose venue ("SUD Lisboa Hall"), connected by a skybridge. The whole space features a modern décor, and is livened up by DJs or the sounds of jazz.
The restaurant offers outdoor seating facing the Tagus, where Italian and Mediterranean cuisine is served. SUD LISBOA Terrazza offers a great entertainment concept and a Mediterranean sharing menu perfect for every occasion, never forgetting a vast selection of wines and signature cocktails.
SUD Lisboa is situated in Belém, to the west of central Lisbon. Belém combines historic monuments, fascinating museums and carefully maintained parks, all of which line the cooling waters of the Tejo estuary. Long associated with seafaring and the early Portuguese explorers, the many historic monuments found in the district either commemorate this glorious past, or were funded by the vast wealth that flowed into Portugal from the colonies.
In this prime location you can find historical monuments, museums and cultural centres like the Jerónimos Monastery, Museu dos Coches, the Cultural Centre of Belém, as well as MAAT.
